Singing
My teacher doesn't want me to sing thru my nose. I said I wanted to sing at church, and she suggested something Italian with high notes.
Violin
I am getting better rosin when I can, too. Also, there's the shoulder rest.
In college for string class for a year 3 days a week, we climbed very slowly. I tended not to make mistakes.
I just feel that in most cases it's best not to linger.
Plus, other than the mistakes with hitting other strings and maybe from not having the shoulder rest, seems to be okay.
My fingers are getting stronger to remember where to go, I hope.
If it's not good with the shoulder rest, I'll need to focus on the notes, again, somehow, probably.
I liked playing around. I'm not sure what would happen if I didn't.

Ruining My Voice
I had a teacher who specialized in speech and theater. I liked her and took singing from her in the summer.
She asked if I'd do musical theater or opera with her, and I said art songs. I ended up doing musical theater.
So, I ruined my voice.
Don't worry, I have a new instructor for these times who I can work around with.

We did do a little German, and I felt I picked it up well. My grandma speaks Dutch, too.
Singing Lessons
My mom said I could start 45 minute singing lessons in May. Violin is 1/2 hour. Singing is good for 45 minutes because of warming up things.

My Nails From Playing Violin
The pointer fingers both got significantly shorter soon and probably look wider.
Violin Lesson Books
I bought 2 books, Essential Elements for band levels 1 & 2. We used this in college string class.
For my lesson yesterday, I got there early and practiced from a book for about 1/2 hour and got thru about 1/2 the book.
A lot of the beginning was pizzicato.

Bleeding
When I learned pointe in ballet, my toes never bled.
After violin, the skin is coming off some of my nails and the pointer on the right hand, which holds the bow, bled underneath.
